The game is called 'Secretum Labyrinth:The Legend.' You may or may not have heard from Atari Age or Video61 or elsewhere and it's development name, and the name of the demo version is 'Secretum labrinth: King's Gold. The full version is a new cartridge game release through video61, the order site is clearly visible in the attached youtube video. It requires an XL/XE with 64k (Or 800 w/Incognito), like many of the "Blue Box" XE game cartridges. It is an action/RPG/Adventure game similar to Zelda, Gauntlet, Temple of Aphsai and others of that ilk. Video61 also sells many previously unreleased, beta, proto-type, and new software on cartridge, see what you might have missed! members.tcq.net/video61/main.html
Below are the demo version and map images and file.
And I was sort of wrong about it being a "demo" version, the free one above, 'Kings Gold', is a prequel to the much larger 'The Legend.' And while there are supposed to be loads of improvements to the sequel, Kings Gold is a full-fledged game and pretty amazing in it's own rite, with the great animation and tons of sprites and colours. There is flickering, but NO slow down of the game when flickering occurs, and I actually like the flickering on the main character's sword, it makes it look like a light-saber/lazer-sword or other magical energy sword.
I actually forgot I posted that map here. I've been playing without it for a while, haven't finished yet, but I already know my way around a good portion, but that map will help me finish it. I'll also need the map to include in the double review I'm doing of the Secretum Labyrinth games in the next issue of EXCEL. Maybe even a sneak-peek at the third in a soon-to-be trilogy. This third is said to have labyrinth "room" graphics more like Gauntlet or the Temple of Aphsai trilogy with the updated graphics, as well as a either greatly improved or entirely new sprite multiplexing engine and much, much more.
So...you have a playable demo version of Secretum Labyrinth: The Legend? I didn't know one existed. Can you post a link to download? Or, do you actually have Secretum Labyrinth: King's Gold, which I just explained actually isn't a "demo" but a complete game and prequel to 'The Legend.' I want to clarify as since I am going to do a review, it would be nice to get a jump on things with a demo version of 'The Legend' if one exists.

This is what I already have, thanks anyway Mclaneinc. What you have above IS NOT a "demo" it IS a full-fledged game and prequel. You will get an entirely different game (in content and story) with Secretum Labyrinth: The Legend. Obviously I will have to have a strongly worded opening paragraph explaining to readers that King's Gold is not a demo, but a real, complete, non-beta game in it's own right (even though it is CLEARLY stated in the King's Gold game itself in the opening text!)
I was confused at first too, because it does say "freeware demonstration" but right after it clarifies that 'The Legend' is a SEQUEL, and NOT a completed version of 'King's Gold!' 'King's Gold' is a COMPLETE game in it's own right, NOT a DEMO. The part where it calls it a "demonstration" is being misinterpreted.
