Pretty cool. I think I may do something similar for a couple more SIO cables I need. I have plenty of cable on hand, just no SIO plugs. But this has given me a better idea; I will get some child's clay or play-doh and then use another SIO plug to make a mold for SIO plugs to make SIO plugs out of hot-glue. The plugs will be solid, formed around the wires. 2 steps, starting with the actual plug, then drill the holes for the wires/pin connectors, then a second solid mold for the housing.
That could be a good idea, Baker. The alternative is 3d-printed SIO plugs. They usually go for 3-4 EUR each, plus shipping. But you also need the crimped roll molex in order to solder the pins to wires. klyde knows a lot more than me about these. Not exactly cheap at the end of the day. So that's why you gotta let some creativity walk in and experiment.. :-)
