It's been ages since I made a new thread as things have been less than wonderful this end but hey ho, life goes on...
Just take a look at this boxed German Speccy up for sale at the mo on a rival retro forum:
ABOVE: The standard UK Speccy box was a black affair so this for me would be very collectable... if you like that kind of thing!
The usual ten-a-penny Speccy black box.
I may well start my own personal 'retro-relaunch' this year by delving into some more Sinclair stuff stashed away this end so let me know, retronauts, if the old Speccy or venerable Ded Ex 81 floats your boat and we'll chew the fat here some more.
Also, if you want a link to that German Speccy, just PM me (they're currently asking 150 euros).
I have never seen that box artwork before, Mr K - excellent find.
Lovely to see Einstein endorsing the product too!
Just like the classic, late 70s-early 80s "Art of Atari" which we are all quite aware of, I am very much 'into' the bold Sinclair 'futuristic' artwork which was conceived for some of their boxes, literature and manuals, too.
I think the cover of the ZX81 user manual itself is an excellent example of this:
ABOVE: How magic would this have been in the hands of a young teenage would-be programmer back in 81-82?
I'll tell you - it was wonderful to behold (so long as you didn't drop it, or sneeze and wobble that RAM PACK!!)
