No, not my Atari 8-bit addiction or hardware hacking addiction. Those are vices I'll just have to live with...
What I am no longer addicted to is my Atarimax 32-in-1 OS. I've held onto it by tooth and nail with every mod and upgrade because of my addiction to APE WARP+ OS that is on it. But now that I have discovered Qmeg V4.4 on my Syscheck 2.2, with all the features that Warp+ has and so much more, especially now that I'm getting into programming and am setting up the best possible environment on my Atari for that. Between Qmeg and SpartaDOS X I get all the features I wanted from the several different OS's I did use on the 32-in-1 and don't have to go swapping in and out of the different OS's anymore.
I have no intention of un-installing the 32-in-1 from my system, I'll still use it for the wonderful REMOTE CONTROL OS for use with SIO2PC/APE, but other than that, I've moved on. Besides, the external OS's on my Syscheck are a lot more stable with the PBI than the 32-in-1...which helps me avoid attempting to translate and do the whole PHi0, PHi1 and PHi2 stability fixes for 600/800XL/XE machines to my 1200XL. I have noticed stability issue since I have been using the 1200XL with a PBI. Most of it cleared up after putting in a another Sally and replacing most of the 74LSxx IC's for newer 74HCxx IC's, but there was still a stability issue that cropped up while using SpartaDOS X & MyIDE 2 HDD solution with the 32-in-1 OS, which seems to have disappeared since I started using the external OS's on the Syscheck instead.
I do miss the green on green colors of the WARP+ OS display, but I'll just have to learn to change them with some POKES in a SpartaDOS batch file.
