Sorry for the absence over the last few weeks, been poorly again. So here we have a teaser trailer from Retrobytes in Spain for the new game from them called Jarlac released through the CPCRetroDev 2018 program/competition. It shows off the CPC's 16 Colour mode quite well and the AY music sounds pretty good too.
Did you check out the Oric Signal Conditioner - all systems go there as it works a treat - and Shaun (Diablo) will lurve this.
Good on yer, pal.
Hope you're on the mend, mate.
I have Klyde's Box'o'Tricks but haven't used it yet sadly, will try it this week hopefully. Thanks for the support mate too, it's appreciated. I am about to start building a Multiface 2 for the CPC soon so that will be another thing to write up. My mate Bertrand has sent me the PCB so hopefully it will arrive soon. It's the Amstrad version of Romantic Robot's Multiface snapshot card that was very popular with Spectrum owners.
You'll definitely notice that any tapes before which were a little 'hit and miss' are now fixed by Klyde's gizmo, Richie - it's a hit!
Yeah, ill health is lousy and we all know that sometimes we can take our health for granted, but by hell, we know about it once we're on the ropes - it's priceless, mate, as you know.
The Multiface 2 for the CPC sounds interesting - can you remind us what that will allow the CPC to be hooked up to or does it act like a 'Freezer' (you mention 'Snapshot')-type copying device?
It freezes the game you are running and allows you to enter POKES and also read parts of the memory to look for new POKES or to find the two letters for a LENSLOK'ed game. You can also backup the game to tape and maybe disc. It doesn't allow you to connect to anything else.
Here is a video of me playing Jarlac ( badly ) and it's a good game for the CPC, the flying frogs are a bit annoying though, when the reach you and hover over your location there is no way to kill them until you make enough space between you and the frog.
