I picked up an ST a wee while back and I'm needing some basic display advice.
Basically I can't get a display via the RF cable. Anyhow; I've been thinking about rigging up a comp signal; but my tv/monitor doesn't have the standard RCA socket. I don't want to buy an 13 pin too Scart lead yet; as I don't know if the ST works or not.
So I was wonder if it's safe to rig-up pin 20 on the (and a gnd) scart; would this work
Sorry I realise it's probably a silly question.

RCA socket is for composite video output, but only Atari STFM version have the composite circuitry, STF or STE versions don't have it and can only output RGB (SCART) video signal. Do you have a STFM version?
That said, RGB SCART TV input must be fully wired (especially if it's a modern LCD TV) or the TV won't display anything. And since the Atari ST RGB video signal is not standard, you often have to hack before it displays something.
