Maybe you all know already, but I found out about the Atari version while browsing Fandal's site a while back, and came across it again on Youtube, so I thought I'd share, just in case. Both games are new to me, since I've yet to own a Spectrum. While the Spectrum version is more colourful, the Atari version is much faster/smoother and has great tunes! Actually, I personally think the XE B/W version just fits the type of game and theme better for some reason...I'm glad it's not in colour. Notice in the XE version how the trees lean when the bike turns/leans on the XE version...a very nice touch!
Between this XXL persons Spectrum ports, and Fandals BBC micro ports, I'm getting to experience a lot of Spectrum and BBC games even before I own the micros. And often the games are upgraded for the A8.
I think my favorite port of all, so far, is E-type from the BBC micro. The Atari has needed a road game like this one FOREVER, since it didn't get such games as Outrun, or the great Amiga/ST games like Lotus Turbo Challenge and Crazy Cars III, etc. Sure, The Great American Cross Country Road Race, is good, and California Run is pretty good, but they don't compare to E-type!
