I'm not sure us Britishers would call it so, after all it's a bloody computer in a sweet shop, but just rewind your taste buds, hearts n minds to the early 80s and recall what life was like as a young gun down a typical high street INDIVIDUAL shop (not a sodding supermarket), and reminisce on life back then...
Check out the range of different British brands, the eccentricity of the shopkeeper, her 'security' door method and the cosy homespun world of life back then.
Truly, which do you prefer?
Once more, thanks go to Nostalgia Nerd for his unique and humorous commentary.
I certainly miss the days of single shops instead of bloody supermarkets, whether the shop was on "main street" America, or in an American mall full of shops. Both are a definitely dying breed in the states...just check out the abandoned mall documentaries on American malls! Tragic! They were the life-blood of social interaction and commercialism of the 80's, just like "main street" shops where for the generations before as well as my generation at the same time! And they thought the shopping mall would be the end of "main street" shops...but they didn't know about SUPER WAL-MARTS back then that put both mom&pop shops and American malls out of business! The Internet and on-line shopping is the co-conspirator in the death of American shops and malls!
There are dozens and dozens of these videos on youtube, showing the THOUSANDS of American malls that have gone under and are ghost towns now, in the last 20 years!
